About us
The Studio
Garnica Miguelena is an interior design studio founded by Pilar Magaña and Cristina Miguelena. Based in Marbella, the studio works on projects across Spain and internationally.
Both trained as architects at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM), and share a background closely tied to design and interiors. Along the way, they also studied at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago. Pilar holds a master's degree in Interior Design from Istituto Marangoni in Milan, while Cristina spent several years combining her professional practice with teaching on interior design master's programmes at IED Madrid and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
They work side by side, sharing ideas, decisions and a common sensibility for thoughtfully designed spaces. That same rapport extends to their clients, with whom they always keep communication open and direct.
For them, design is a way of creating spaces that convey a sense of well-being, where beauty and function sit together effortlessly. They seek warm, welcoming and timeless interiors, with particular attention to natural materials, texture, light and all the small details that give each project an identity of its own.
The studio is supported by a team of interior designers and designers who share the same sensibility. This collective eye allows every project to be approached from different perspectives, resulting in proposals that are carefully considered, coherent and deeply tailored to each client.
How we work
Every project begins with listening: understanding the space and getting to know how each client lives. From there, we develop an entirely bespoke proposal, weighing every decision so that the result is coherent, functional and has an identity of its own.
Our work spans every stage of the process, from the first ideas and the development of the design to the selection of materials, furniture, lighting and decorative pieces, offering a complete and highly personal service.
We see each project as a new opportunity to create something special. We carefully study the space, its surroundings and each client's needs to create interiors that are considered down to the last detail and designed to endure.
